COMFWB Malawi and Graça Machel Trust Convene Dissemination Meeting on Women’s Participation in Public Procurement
On 10 August 2026, the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi Chapter, with support from the Graça Machel Trust, hosted a targeted dissemination meeting with women entrepreneurs to share findings and policy responses regarding women-led business participation in public procurement.
Following the preliminary national dissemination of the survey findings in 2025, COMFWB Malawi, in partnership with the National Association of Businesswomen (NABW), conducted high-level policy dialogues with key institutional leadership. Engagements were held with senior leadership and Cabinet Ministers from the Ministry of Industrialization, Business, Trade and Tourism, the Ministry of Gender, and the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA).
The 10 August session served as a feedback mechanism to brief women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on the concrete commitments made by these public entities. The meeting provided a collaborative platform for women entrepreneurs to assess structural progress, evaluate policy interventions, and engage in constructive dialogue surrounding systemic barriers in public procurement processes.
