COMFWB Malawi Chapter trains 20 members on AfCFTA trainer of trainers

On November 13, 2025, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB) Malawi Chapter successfully hosted a Trainer of Trainers (ToT) program focusing on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The intensive training took place at the Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe and involved 20 selected COMFWB Malawi members.
The training was organized by COMFWB Malawi with generous support from the Graca Machel Trust. The primary objective was to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the AfCFTA framework, thereby building their capacity to act as knowledge multipliers within the broader community of women entrepreneurs. This initiative is pivotal in preparing women-led businesses in Malawi to effectively tap into the vast trade and investment opportunities presented by the Single African Market.
Over the course of the session, participants engaged in practical, discussion-based learning on core areas of the AfCFTA, including technical aspects of trade in goods and services, navigating regional market access requirements, and developing actionable strategies for scaling businesses across borders. This investment in local capacity building underscores COMFWB Malawi’s commitment to sustainable economic empowerment for women.
