COMFWB Officials championned Malawian Women Entrepreneurs at "Women Creating Wealth" Forum

Lilongwe, Malawi – The "Women Creating Wealth" Country Forum and Certification ceremony, held on June 3rd, was a resounding success, celebrating the remarkable achievements of 114 Malawian women entrepreneurs. This event, an effort of the Graça Machel Trust (GMT), showcased the unwavering dedication and hard work of these women as they completed their transformative training.

The forum was a vibrant hub of knowledge and inspiration. It featured an insightful overview of the "Women Creating Wealth" program, compelling data, and powerful stories from trailblazing women entrepreneurs. Key discussions highlighted the vital partnership between the GMT and the COMESA Federation of Women in Business (COMFWB), alongside groundbreaking research on market access, youth, and policy ecosystems.

The afternoon session included an enriching panel discussion, where COMFWB Malawi Chairperson, Selina Mwenelupembe, actively participated, offering valuable insights. Additionally, six talented "Women Creating Wealth" entrepreneurs presented their "jumpstart" pitches, showcasing innovative business ideas. The event was further elevated by impactful messages from prominent figures. Professor Malata, Vice Chancellor for Malawi University of Science and Technology, encouraged women entrepreneurs to be audacious and expand their networks. Mr. Chikakula Miti, CEO of COMFWB, reinforced the critical importance of networking and building strong linkages for business growth.

The ceremony culminated in the certification of all 114 women entrepreneurs, a testament to their perseverance and newfound skills.
