COYWA Project Implementation and Stakeholder Engagement in Ethiopia

We are thrilled to announce that the COMFWB Team has officially touched down in Ethiopia to kickstart the implementation of the COYWA Project (Supporting Youth and Women in Agribusiness). This mission marked a pivotal step in our commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth through targeted entrepreneurial support.
During the visit, our team engaged in high-level consultations with the Ethiopian Women Entrepreneurs Association (EWEA) and the COMFWB Ethiopia Chapter. Together, we finalized strategic goals and mapped out a comprehensive execution plan to ensure the project delivers measurable results.
Beyond the boardroom, we took to the field to meet with local youth entrepreneur groups and visited specialized leather workshops. These firsthand insights into the daily operations of Ethiopian artisans and agri-preneurs allowed us to tailor our support to the actual needs of the community. This successful mission has paved the way for upcoming training, mentorship, and capacity-building programs. The journey has just begun—stay tuned for the impact!
The Vital Role of Agribusiness for Women and Youth
The relevance of the COYWA Project cannot be overstated, as women and youth represent the most significant yet underutilized economic engines in Africa.
For women, agribusiness provides a pathway to financial independence and leadership, allowing them to transition from subsistence farming to value-added processing and international trade.
For the youth, this project rebrands agriculture as a modern, tech-driven, and profitable career choice, addressing the urgent challenge of unemployment.
By providing the specific tools, mentorship, and market access needed to succeed, we aren't just supporting individual businesses—we are strengthening the food security and economic resilience of the entire region.
