Driving Structural Change for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Malawi

On August 13, 2026, COMFWB Malawi, in partnership with the Graça Machel Trust, convened key ecosystem players—including government representatives and financial service providers—for the Advocacy Outcome Tracking Consultative Workshop under the Women Creating Wealth Intergenerational Edition (WCW-I) Programme.

The session served as a strategic platform to evaluate advocacy interventions executed between 2023 and 2026, measuring tangible policy shifts and structural changes.

Core areas of reflection included:

-----------------------

Policy Reform: Supporting the review of the National Plan of Action for Women's Economic Empowerment (NAPWEE).

Market Access: Advancing evidence-based reform in public procurement access for women-led businesses.

Capacity Building: Strengthening institutional and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Visibility: Strategic media campaigns and documentary productions promoting gender-responsive entrepreneurship.

Through collaborative validation, stakeholders documented key successes, addressed systemic gaps, and outlined actionable recommendations to sustain long-term economic inclusion for women entrepreneurs.
