National Women Entrepreneur Council celebrated Excellence at the 2026 Award Ceremony

The National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC) hosted its highly anticipated National Women Entrepreneur Council Award Ceremony 2026 on Thursday, 07 May 2026, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium.

The prestigious event was graced by the Honourable (Mrs.) Marie Arianne Navarre Marie, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare. Also in attendance were Mrs. R. Fatuma Koylash, Chairperson of the NWEC and member of the COMFWB Chapter in Mauritius, alongside several distinguished guests.

Empowering Mauritian Women Entrepreneurs

In her address, Mrs. R. Fatuma Koylash reiterated the NWEC's unwavering dedication to advancing women’s entrepreneurship, fostering innovation, and strengthening economic empowerment across Mauritius.

The ceremony celebrated the exceptional accomplishments, innovation, and perseverance of local women entrepreneurs, showcasing the vibrancy and immense potential of the country’s entrepreneurial landscape. Out of the numerous participants, twelve (12) outstanding nominees were recognized for their remarkable growth and contributions to their respective sectors.

Celebrating the Winners

  • Most Promising Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2026:Mrs. Biguette Petronille Julien (Agri-Business Sector)Awarded a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a shield, and a certificate of participation.
  • Sector Winners (Agri-Business, Textiles, Handicraft, and Services):Each sector winner received a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a shield, and a certificate of participation.

To honor the dedication of all entrants, a certificate of participation was presented to every entrepreneur who took part in the National Women Entrepreneur Council Award 2026.
