COMFWB Libya - Promoting business ties: meeting at the italian embassy

Tripoli, November 12, 2025 โ€” A constructive meeting was held at the Italian Embassy in Tripoli between representatives of the Embassy and leading Libyan women's business organizations. The meeting aimed to foster cooperation and facilitate the participation of Libyan businesswomen in Italian trade events.The Libyan delegation included the Women's Business Committee of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, and the COMESA Businesswomen's Association (COMFWB), Libya Chapter.

Ms. Ibtisam Ben Amer provided a comprehensive presentation on the activities and scope of the Women's Business Committee and the COMFWB Libya Chapter, including its founding charter and a report on its domestic and international activities. Key topics addressed during the meeting included:

Participation in Italian Fairs : Ms. Ben Amer formally requested support for the Libyan delegation's participation in the prestigious Traditional Industries Exhibition in Milan (Artigiano in Fiera), scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 7, 2025.

Regional Engagement : Discussion also covered the Libyan Chapter's plans to participate in the 6th COMESA Women's Business Conference and Trade Fair, to be held from May 7 to May 9, 2025.

Following a positive exchange of views, the members of the Italian Embassy expressed their commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation.

They agreed to provide the necessary support, within available resources, and to facilitate the participation of the Libyan businesswomen in upcoming exhibitions in Italy.

The meeting concluded with the Libyan delegation presenting several gifts to His Excellency the Ambassador as a token of goodwill and appreciation.
